When I first connected with Carly Israel to be on my podcast, I knew she was one of my people.
Carly is multi-talented. She’s the host of not one, not two, but THREE podcasts; a co-parenting coach, AND an author!
Her newest podcast, Must.Love.Self. is also a movement. It’s mission is to have conversations with women all over the globe, sharing their ugly and their beautiful, with the intention of breaking the chains that hold us back from loving our bodies, owning our worth, and making our voices heard.
If you’ve been following Real, Brave, & Unstoppable for a while, you know that this is right up my alley in terms of what I stand for, and my vision for what I do in coaching.
It was an absolute joy to interview Carly for this episode. We talk about her memoir, Seconds and Inches, where she shares her story of addiction, recovery, a failed marriage, her son’s scary medical issues and living life authentically, in the middle of our “beautiful messes”.
One of my favorite quotes from her memoir is this:
“When we live our lives with authenticity, mistakes, and beautiful messes, all that’s left is the light.”
Take that quote into your day. When we live our lives true to who we really are and what’s important to us, we find the courage to own our mistakes and our flaws. It is then that we are truly able to embrace ALL of life – the good and the bad – as a beautiful mess.
When we own that, we feel more beautiful.
We feel alive.
