It’s almost here. 2021 is almost here!
Are you ready? It can only get better from here, right?
I think a lot of folks view 2020 as a “throwaway year”. Let’s just throw in the towel and move forward. And yes, I get it. BUT.
But, we’re forgetting something.
We create our own experience whether we have “good times” or “bad times”. We decide what our experience of those circumstances will be.
So what if 2021 is just as difficult? Will you resign yourself to throwing another year away in hopes that the next year will be better?
There’s a better way.
What’s that, you say? It’s simple. Do what you can to create your own experience. Ask yourself these questions: What went well in 2020? What didn’t go so well (and go deeper than just external events)? What do you want more of in 2021? What do you want less of? What are your values – what’s important to you and why? How do you want to feel in the coming year?
Start by setting some goals for the new year, but set them from the heart. Give yourself something to focus on to make your year great.
This means choosing goals that are aligned with who you truly are and what’s important to you. It means knowing why your goals are important to you. It means making a plan, tracking progress and celebrating your wins. It means believing in yourself and having a plan to get past roadblocks when they up.
